Co-curated by loved ones and peers of the esteemed artist and published author, Nancy Raeburn, this retrospective stands to honor her creativity through a wide chronology of artworks. This ten day show and art sale will be situated on the Washburn Cultural Center’s third floor where viewers and collectors alike are invited to experience the depth and range of Raeburn’s work.
Art Supply Swap
What
A material exchange where artists can bring unwanted or extra supplies and take home something new for an upcoming project. Any and all materials are welcome, from partially used paint tubes to magazines for collaging. Come and see what materials inspire you while you meet other makers in the area.
When
September 17th, 2022, from 12pm-4pm
Where
Washburn Cultural Center, 3rd Floor
Why
One artist’s surplus may serve as another’s inspiration. In the spirit of sustainability and mutual aid, Washburn Cultural Center is facilitating this event to reduce waste and overconsumption within local creative communities and in its place foster a network of creative exchange. Any supplies left over at the end of the swap may be donated to the WCC for use in future public programming.
WE'RE REOPEN!
See You in Spring 2021!
As part of our continued effort to prioritize the health of our community, employees, and visitors in the coming months, the Washburn Cultural Center building will remain closed to visitors until April 2021. During our hiatus, we will continue to update our eBay store with new listings for antiques and collectible gifts as well as vintage vinyls from our Vault.
We appreciate all of the visitors who came to browse our shops, view our monthly art exhibitions, and explore our museum in this challenging and unprecedented year, as well as the efforts of the artist groups who organized exhibitions and contributed works for display this year.
As April approaches, we will keep you updated on an official re-opening date. Until then, we continue to appreciate your understanding as we do our part to keep each other healthy and safe over the winter months.
We are excited to see you all again Spring 2021!
Temporary Closure (COVID-19 Update from November 25)
Regretfully, due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in our area and throughout the state, the Cultural Center has decided to close temporarily to visitors until at least Tuesday, December 1. We will not be scheduling any post-closure appointments until we officially announce our reopening date here on our website or on our social media platforms.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to prioritize and take seriously the health of our visitors and our employees. We hope that you—our friends and community members—stay safe in the coming days.
We will update you all about the possibility of reopening by appointment again in the near future. We hope that upon reopening, you will continue to help us (safely) support local artists and the Cultural Center.
