Nancy Raeburn Retrospective

Co-curated by loved ones and peers of the esteemed artist and published author, Nancy Raeburn, this retrospective stands to honor her creativity through a wide chronology of artworks. This ten day show and art sale will be situated on the Washburn Cultural Center’s third floor where viewers and collectors alike are invited to experience the depth and range of Raeburn’s work.

Virtual Exhibition CBAC's THE GATHERING 2022

The Chequamegon Bay Arts Council (CBAC) returns to the Cultural Center’s galleries for their annual members show, The Gathering.

The virtual exhibition below highlights the work of these talented individuals, featuring photos of this month’s galleries and detailed images of individual works on display.

Art Supply Swap

What

A material exchange where artists can bring unwanted or extra supplies and take home something new for an upcoming project. Any and all materials are welcome, from partially used paint tubes to magazines for collaging. Come and see what materials inspire you while you meet other makers in the area.

Why

One artist’s surplus may serve as another’s inspiration. In the spirit of sustainability and mutual aid, Washburn Cultural Center is facilitating this event to reduce waste and overconsumption within local creative communities and in its place foster a network of creative exchange. Any supplies left over at the end of the swap may be donated to the WCC for use in future public programming.

K–12 STUDENT ART SHOW 2022 — Virtual Exhibition (May 4–27, 2022)

This month, work by elementary, middle, and high school artists from the School District of Washburn fills both galleries for the annual K–12 STUDENT ART SHOW, which runs from May 4–27.

The Cultural Center will be open BOTH Saturday and Sunday afternoons in May so that fellow students, family, friends, and community members can appreciate the work of these up-and-coming artists. Stop by Wednesdays–Sundays from 12pm–4pm to view this year's exhibit and browse our shops!

Family and friends are also invited to celebrate these students and their works at a public reception on Tuesday, May 10, from 5pm–7pm.
