Art Supply Swap

What

A material exchange where artists can bring unwanted or extra supplies and take home something new for an upcoming project. Any and all materials are welcome, from partially used paint tubes to magazines for collaging. Come and see what materials inspire you while you meet other makers in the area.

When

September 17th, 2022, from 12pm-4pm

Where

Washburn Cultural Center, 3rd Floor

Why

One artist’s surplus may serve as another’s inspiration. In the spirit of sustainability and mutual aid, Washburn Cultural Center is facilitating this event to reduce waste and overconsumption within local creative communities and in its place foster a network of creative exchange. Any supplies left over at the end of the swap may be donated to the WCC for use in future public programming.

K–12 STUDENT ART SHOW 2022 — Virtual Exhibition (May 4–27, 2022)

This month, work by elementary, middle, and high school artists from the School District of Washburn fills both galleries for the annual K–12 STUDENT ART SHOW, which runs from May 4–27.

The Cultural Center will be open BOTH Saturday and Sunday afternoons in May so that fellow students, family, friends, and community members can appreciate the work of these up-and-coming artists. Stop by Wednesdays–Sundays from 12pm–4pm to view this year's exhibit and browse our shops!

Family and friends are also invited to celebrate these students and their works at a public reception on Tuesday, May 10, from 5pm–7pm.
